Dear Professor Alikhani,
Currently pursuing an undergraduate in Computer Science, this is only my second year in the United States. I grew up in Pakistan, which is considered a third world country to the rest of the world. However, lucky enough, I had the perk of attending a private school before my dream to study abroad brought me to America – the land of opportunities.
I do not consider myself as a science person, until sixth-grade when I impressed my teachers through participation in the annual Science Fair. I constructed a hydro-electric power project in an attempt to promote renewable energy sources. My model turned out to be a huge success at that time, securing me the first position in the branch. This accomplishment alone fueled confidence and trust in myself. In the years following, I began excelling at Math and Sciences and competent enough to become Vice President of Science Society in October 2013. My high school career is filled with numerous achievements too. In January 2016, I led a five-people team in a Science event at LUMS, competing against teams from across Pakistan. Hard work and determination helped me ace my Cambridge O-level exams in high school when I scored straight A+s in Math, Chemistry, and Physics.
Moving to New York City has been a wonderful journey. Groove School of Engineering is indeed a significant opportunity towards pursuing my dreams. I strongly believe that studying Computer Science and minoring in Physics will enable me to launch my ideas as startups in the years to come. As a future Computer Scientist and Physicist, I am optimistic about my innovative proposals which will help shape the world for the better.
Sincerely,
Ahsan Fayyaz
